Restorative Yoga is an incredibly gentle yet effective approach to releasing deeply held stress & tension. Using props such as blocks, blankets, straps, bolsters, and sometimes chairs & the wall, participants are fully supported as they maintain postures designed to heal, restore, and relax. Adding to this opportunity to relax will be the use of the gong, which Maureen will play for 10 – 30 minutes. You may wear your “street clothes”, though if wearing a skirt, changing is recommended. Instruction provided by a 500-HR certified and experienced Hatha Yoga Instructor with advanced instruction in Restorative Yoga.
- No previous yoga experience is required.
- Participants are gently supported through postures with the use of props.
- Use of the highly healing sounds of the gong.
- By resting in these postures for significant periods of time, the Relaxation Response (i.e. parasympathetic nervous system) has the opportunity to “kick-in” to release deeply-seated stress.
