Children’s Yoga

This pre-registered session will run again in February 2016.

This active class for kids aged 5 to 12, develops self awareness, good listening skills, teamwork and observations skills by incorporating yoga teachings through playing, singing, moving, imitating and resting. Children learn the connection between animals, themselves and the environment through yoga postures. Classes encourage cooperation between the younger and older children.

Children become familiar with names of yoga postures and the associated body parts, their location and function. The teacher encourages the children to act out various animal qualities and create stories using yoga postures. Students practice both active and quiet postures (including breath work) to develop self-awareness and control of their feelings, as well as improve concentration
