The world-renowned Sivananda style of Yoga is a classical and holistic approach to Hatha Yoga that stretches and tones the whole body and elevates the mind and spirit.

Sivananda practice establishes physiological balance in the body and secures mental poise through its scientifically-designed series of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (yogic breathing techniques) in a particular sequence.

You will learn:

– The Sivananda Yoga sequence including breathing, sun salutations, and 12 asanas
– The core theme of Sivananda teaching
– The 5 principles of yoga for physical, mental and spiritual transformation
– Practical tips and adjustments for incorporating the 5 principles of yoga in daily life

After attending this course you will be well-prepared to participate in other Sivananda classes and workshops or explore other yoga styles with a solid foundation in posture as well as an understanding of some Yogic philosophy.

References will be made to the book, Yoga Mind and Body, by the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre, which is a great resource on many aspects of yoga.
